I recently had cause to look into this for a friend. You won't find any original Miller points as they're not made any more and no-one is interested in replicating them as the original design is rubbish with a tiny, easily stripped, thread. The solution seems to be available from the LE Velocette Club who have someone who makes a replacement backplate with more substantial points. Hope this helps, REgards, Mark

Hi Mick,
Didn't you recently do away with the magneto and fit coil ignition. Just a thought probably no condensor fitted and I assume it has burnt the points? I'm watching with interest, let us know how you get on

Norm,Mark,
Thanks for your interest.I have successfully fitted the coil ( including ensuring the condenser was fitted)nothing burnt out.Just wanted to find a source for new points come the time I might need them.I have had to renew the insulation on the wiring terminal of the existing ones as they where earthing, apart from that a great success. The battery is sacrificial as you will appreciate, but I only want it for displays,so very little mileage will be done.
Many thanks to you both

Regards
Michael

Hi Mick a few months back I tried this on an Ensign, start first kick every time but it wouldn't rev untill I flicked it back to the magneto and it would rev properly. I'm going to try the same setup on the Fleas and as you are doing it is only for kicks and giggles, trailer it to the Club meetings, park around the corner, come around in a cloud of smoke and get lots of laughs
