anybody got any good tips for spokes to fit on a bullet & is stainless the way to go ? i,ve just replaced my first spoke on the diesel rigid ,i have zinc plated indian market spokes at the moment ,i,ve heard from a dubious source that rigid bikes like to have their spokes not as tight as sprung frame models ? the joys of 1930,s style biking happy days paul.p.s spoke change took 2hours

I'd keep the spokes tight but perhaps let the tyres run a bit softer. I can't see the point of stainless spokes with a straight steel rim but ally or stainless rims then why not. The indian galv ones seem to be very heavy gauge so should be more than up to the task. I've laced up a few wheels now and its one of those tasks that you gain a feel for. I found that having laced up my second I had to redo the first but its a good job to do in front of the telly until you do the final truing up and then you need a gig of some kind and full attention.
