Hello
I have recently purchased a 1966 crusader :) a lovely bike apart from
I have an oil leak from the drive side it seems to be coming from the case where the chain exits the casing??
So before I start stripping it down has anyone any ideas what could have failed.

Cheers

Crusader oil leak

Mainshaft oilseal behind the drive sprocket probably. Is it gear oil? Check and see what's in the gearbox and see if it's the same, (and we're assuming it's not just engine oil from the engine breather that's been flicked off by the chain!) If it's a seal leak, it's very common on the Crusader range and changing the seal is quite involved so if the leak isn't disastrous I'd live with it. By the way, there is a specialist group for Crusader owners at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Cru ... cal_group/ with lots of specialist info and knowledgeable owners. And if you haven't got one,buy a Manual as these engines are more tricky than your usual Brit 250! REgards, Mark
