-------Oh dear !!...yet another "new" or "revolutionary" design apparently sponsored by a Piston manufacturer ??............ Anyone fancy a go at a 750cc Radial using the top-ends from a BSA C15 or B25 etc ??

It looks very intriguing, but when poppet valves work perfectly well in engines running at 20,000 rpm and more (perhaps not Enfields....) then maybe this new engine is a solution in search of a problem.
However, it's still good to see different thinking....something really groundbreaking may come of it.

Yeah, it's OK. But for the benefits, i am sure you would have to put in a vast amount of R&D to get it to the standard of a modern conventional engine. It would probably cost more to make with three pistons and cylinder bores. How would the balance factors all work out?
I remember in my youth, Rotary engines were supposed to be the future. Now, they are a damn' good idea and we are constantly told that "the problems have been ironed out". But where are they now. Do Mazda still make them? Perhaps some new Nortons at some point?

Now here's something that will make you laugh. That previous post was auto-censored "because it has words which are blocked to eliminate spam". I changed one word and it posted O.K. That one word? Well I obviously can't write it, but I replaced it with "Rotary"!

Now I could understand it if the anti-spam removed 'Diesel' but surely not 'W***el' (apologies to Grunda....)

The Commander and the Classic were "civilian" bikes. There were also a lot of Police bikes in service in the early '80s and racers. Good bikes of their era, I believe, but not enough to keep the original Norton company a going concern. It would be nice to think that Norton will one day develop some new Wanx Nortons ; they hold the patents. Wonder if Wanx will get through?
