Hello all, as a new comer to the world of Enfields, I'm seeking to find some answers from experts or at least those in the know :)

I've got a 2008/09 Pre Unit Construction Electra X Woodsman - (as modified by Watsonian - this was news to me, but I did say I was new to the marque).

I would like to fit a right hand change gearbox to the machine, but have been told that this modification does not exist off the shelf - which is a bit of a downer, as I was told previously that it was!!

Anyway, putting that behind me, I'm left wondering just exactly what did Watsonian do to the frame in the way of mods to mount the gearbox with a left foot change?? Or is it a case of finding a replacement 4 or 5 speed box with a right hand selection lever???

I appreciate that Watsonian (re)manufactured the foot brake lever and moved the pegs - nothing that a few hours on a Saturday morning in the garage won't sort out!

You may be wondering why I'm going to so much trouble?? Well, like I said I was originally told this was available off the shelf; it isn't - despite what the catalogue says! I've spent my savings on a decent bike I like, mainly because I'm a lower left leg amputee and I don't want to ride an automatic bike, nor one with a Klicktronic Gear Changer fitted; been there, done that, and it was rubbish! Neither can I afford to loose out selling the bike on again, in the hopes I'll find another 'may' suit me!

Any advice anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Regards & Ride Safe. Skip.

Although our Hosts do list a right shift converson kit. They're currently out of stock. Might be worth giving them a ring to see when they'll have them again.
