Fitting a seat cover

Hi all. Has anyone as yet fitted a new seat cover to an Electra X ?. I purchased one from our hosts last week, and am somewhat puzzled about fitting. For example, the original is glued, which is an option, but the new one is supposed to be held on with clips. Now, my problem(s) are: do you keep the original beading on the lip of the seat pan which originally protected the material, and cut the material flush with the edge, then tap the clips on, or, remove the beading, fold the material over and clip it. I would appreciate any advice gents.

Regards

Bob for starters remove the beading then see if you can glue the cover and refit the beading

Hi Norm. Thanks for the reply. The beading was originally to protect the cover from the sharp edge of the seat pan, and was under the cover itself. But, at the moment, the plan seems to be heading towards gluing, rather than using the clips, i just feel that things are more likely to rip with the clips.
