Hello DEAN --------- you'll need to restrain the clutch inner assembly when you torque-up the main centre nut... You can make your own locking plate by joining an old driver and driven plate together (Bolt, braze, weld---)making sure they are cenralised..

To amplify the advice from Beezabryan and John R, put the gearbox in top and the rear brake hard on. That should be more than enough to stop the clutch mainshaft turning.

Indian method, shove a rag into the chain infront of the clutch basket on the bottom to undo the clutch nut and to tighten the nut they shove the rag into the top of the basket under the chain.
