It's in the Manual, I really think you should get one. Available from our Hosts quite cheap and will save a lot of heartache. Done those main bearings yet? REgards, Mark

Mark M I have manuals for the 700 Twins the 750 MK1 and S11 the Meteor Minor but not for the 500 Twin did not know that a works manual was available for this model. Have not fitted the main bearings yet to the Meteor Minor
Would still like to know the STD journal size for the 500 Twin before I can get the manual. Measuring mine which have some wear I would guess they should be 1.750 when new

Duffel, the Books and Manuals section here says there is one for the 500T and 700 Meteor, on thinking, I may have it. I'll look later when I'm in the workshop. REgards, Mark

Thanks Harry B and Mark M for yours time as it will save me time knowing what shells I will need and when I next send my list of parts needed to our host I will see if he has a Manual on the 500 Twin I would prefer the orginal as I have a couple that are re-prints and some words run off the end of the page which happens just to be the bit you need to know of the pages all fall out any one else found this ?
