GOSA

Hey group
I am facing problems with gear shifting so I have decided to change my GOSA (GEAR
OPERATORSELECTOR ASSY). I bought a new one from Hitchcocks and has just arrived today, hopefully I will install it this weekend, before doing so I have a couple of questions:
1. Is it true that the spring inside GOSA it too hard and it is recommended to be replaced
with a spring only half as hard?
2. Is it true that the pointed end is too rough thus it needs polished?
3. After replacing the old GOSA shall I screw the new GOSA back in again and tight it hard?
4. Should the slot in the GOSA when replace and screw back be horizontal?
5. Should I lubricate the new GOSA ?
