50/54 500 twin distributor rotation

Hi Gordon, sorry I can't reply to your question some problem with the site. I have seen this problem before and it drove a mate nuts for a long time, same problem you have but as he was 500 miles away I didn't get to look at it only over the computer.Ended up being the wrong dizzy. I ended up removing this ignition from the Meteor and fitted a Pazon unit and haven't had a problem since.Genny and Dizzy are beside the computer so all I can do it put the dizzy in the gen and rotate it, can't actually check firing positions. Sprocket rotation is clockwise, and looking down ontop of dizzy, rotor rotates clockwise with the point of the rotor facing clockwise. I can only assume you are dropping the dizzy into the correct tooth, I put a yellow paint pen mark on the outside of the dizzy directly below where the plug lead is on the cap and then as I lower the dizzy back into the gears so the rotor lines up with the yellow mark. This is done with the motor at just before TDC and then you can determine which lead goes to which cylinder. Hope it helps
