Hi all due to the inclement weather ,I have decided to do some paintwork on my bullet, the petrol tank has some scratches on it and I have decided to re paint the whole tank as opposed to patching up, here lies the problem I don't know the exact colour match and I was wondering if any of you fine gentlemen would have any sugestions on how to identify the colour and where to obtain the paint, the bike is a 1965 bullet and it is a shade of green, not quite olive but very nearly, sadly I think a previous owner did some touching up of the paintwork so the colour may not be original.

hi taper ,take the tank to your local refinishing suppliers who will be able to do you a colour match to your tank i would advise painting the lot as the newly painted tank will outshine the rest of the paintwork good luck ,let us know how you go on atb paul.

As Grunda says. There are places that will match the paint and supply it in rattle cans. It's not the best weather for spraying; you want it a bit warmer and drier really. Moisture in the atmosphere can ruin the finish.

Taper RS paints is a good on-line shop for original factory paint colours. They do original Redditch colours in cans but not sure about Indian, worth taking a look.

thanks for all the advice gents, I would like to do the re paint myself so all information from yourselves is helpful, I intend to contact some of my local auto motive paint suppliers
and take the tank for matching, if I get a good match then my brother has a heated garage and I will try my hand at spraying there, I will let you know how it goes after completion.
