I have a 1962 Crusader with an original 350cc bullet engine. When i have the engine in place the rear engine mount (frame not engine plate) shows a gap. The gap is approx 1/2 inch. Are there spacers for this or has the frame been widened?
Also it seems very difficult to place the primary chaincase and the generator cover back on the engine. Grateful for any help on this. (PS its my first rebuild and im not too technically minded).

Also does oneone know where i could get the LHS toolbox cover (the one with the ignition ope)?

OB, there should be a spacer on the right hand end of the stud. It's clearly visible in the crankcase section of the relevant parts book. You should probably get one if you're a bit of a novice, or even if you're not, they are not expensive and can save a lot of head scratching!

Thanks Nark, it shows the spacer alright......i have a stainless steel cilindrical spacer which came with the parts....i presume its ment for this job?

Are the attachment nuts ment to be accessible through the engine covers??

OB, an original part would be plated steel not stainless, it looks as if someone has made one up but that's not a problem. The fixing nuts should protrude outside the covers if that's what you mean, so that the engine unit can be removed from the frame without removing the outer covers.
