Hi guys----------- I realise some of you older "sweats" might know this one but maybe the newbies could put the info to use ??? BEEZABRYAN ---- sorry to say but YES, those are clutch chainwheels from BSA B40 bikes (or C15 )... The set-up speaks for itself although in this particular case I do need some slightly longer all-thread bars.------------------------------------------------------- Image

Sorry, could someone explain this? Compress the shock, but why? It may speak for itself but not to me.

John, to get the shrouds and/or springs off, you need to compress the spring and then remove the collet(s) at the top, a bit like a valve spring. REgards, Mark

Good use of surplus parts that can still be re-used for their original purpose.
......... I do like a good improvisation avoiding the expense of "special" tools

Using Alan's idea I've been looking out some bits and bobs from the scrap box to make something similar. I need to strip the shocks for the Ebay Bullet soon so now's as good a time as any! REgards, Mark
