Reduce rattle from tank

I have a Standard RE 350 Bullet from 2002. It is in proper condition. When the petrol tank is full with petrol the tank is quiet, but when half full or lesser there is att rattling noise from it when driving at about 40 - 60 Mph. If I squeeze on the sides of the tank with my knees the noise diminish to almoust nothing, but it is "uncomfortable" to squeeze all the time. I have read about this noise on this site before, but havn´t found any solution. Does someone has any idea how to fix this more permanently. Can change of mounting bolts, rubber bushings, or something else help ??? Any tips? (As far as I can understand it can´t be the engine (valves) itself, else the sound would not stop when sqeezing.)

I get this. More of a resonance than a rattle and all my nuts are tight! (on the bike anyway;-)
I always mean to try some sound-deadening material of some sort on the bottom of the tank - I will one day.

Maybe your valves clattering away. They become more audible the less fuel you have left.

This is the Audio Fule Gauge that lets you know when your about to go on reserve , a usefull feature that cost thousands to develope ;0)
"Yes We all get it, Was going to Try Rubber washers on the Bolt Mounts, or rubber Sheet Round Top of Main frame, But its not top of my Prioreties .Pluss with that out the way I would worry about all the other Noises...."

You could try putting sound deadening material on the underside the tank. Its made for putting on the bulk head of cars you can get it from places like frosts its a Fire Resistant foil backed foam the foam side is stuck too the underside of tank leaving the foil side toward the engine. It looks like think rubber carpet underlay with foil on one side. That may help a bit.

I suspect you will find one end of the head steady is loose

If the headsteady is loose Noel the bike turns into a pneumatic drill and no amount of knee gripping will stop it

Tank bag is the answer.
On the day after returning from a longer trip with full luggage I always suspect something is terribly wrong in the engine room when I realize: not wearing the tank bag any more...
Other attempts have been in vain - and don't overtighten the nuts!
