OB, there were Clipper models of both the Crusader and the 350 Bullet. They were intended as "budget" models and had a much more basic specification than the main range. This consisted, among other things, of more painted surfaces and less chrome, unpolished engine cases, non-adjustable rear suspension units, iron cylinder heads rather than alloy, smaller brakes at the front (6" rather than 7") and non-quickly detachable at the rear, smaller carb and lower compression and sometimes, single seat rather than dual seat. The 350 Clipper (Bullet) also had basic undamped forks. The Clippers have nearly all been uprated to higher spec over the years which is a shame (I think,) as the understated looks of the Clipper spec is quite attractive! Incidentally there is a website just for 250 Owners at
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Cru ... cal_group/ where there are several Clipper members and we may be able to help more! REgards, Mark
