I've ordered a new spring as the kicker spring has obviously expired.Just wondering
if it's a simple replacement on these box's.Anything to be wary of?
Never had it apart before.Hopefully H's spring arrives Monday.

Replacement of the spring looks pretty straightforward being behind the gearbox end cover.Drain the oil first. The biggest problem is likely to be getting the cover off after removing all the bolts. Mine was stuck like glue. Not only is there the kickstart shaft but there are also 2 dowels between the cover and gearbox case preventing up and down/side to side movement. There is a raised lip on the top of the cover which if you pass a piece of wood through from the other side you can use to tap the cover and break the seal. You may have to then resort to the big no no of using a screwdriver to lever the cover away. Wrap the blade with insulating tape or use a plastic lever to avoid damaging the surface.I would say you will definately destroy the gasket so hopefully you have ordered a new one too!
