Anybody know offhand if our hosts sell an English made drive shaft for a Bullet. Indian aftermarket ones are only good for scrap metal. I can't see one listed in the book

Hello matey---- sorry but must be a loss in translation there--- what would we know a "drive shaft" as ??  Or have you cross-pollenated from the Moto-Guzzi / Beemer forums ??  Is it a gearbox question ???

Alan,

Maybe I was a bit short on the description, what I need is a decent drive side shaft, got 2 new useless Indian ones here with .4mm runout. Obviously all spares bandied about by ebay sellers are factory rejects or made by some dodgy back yarder

Norm, can you be more precise about what part you want?

I'm with Alan, I've not got a clue about what bits you need.

Hi Norm--- I think you mean the shaft (on the drive or alternator side) that's pressed into the L/H flywheel ??  Maybe the chap who races the Enfield for Hitchcocks might have some contasts ??

Norm,

is this for your Electra/Classic hybrid engine? No Electra parts books on line yet, but I did see part no. 111195 in the on-line parts book for the 4 speed kickstart models if it's the classic Bullet type you're after.  Probably not English made, but I would expect that our hosts are at least selling a genune factory part if it's from India.

They would of course be more than happy to sell you a complete UK made crankshaft assembly, e-mail them and ask if you just want the drive shaft!

Regards,

A.

Midge, Alan, Adrian, thanks for that You have a timing side shaft and a drive side shaft, it's the drive side shaft that I am after. This motor has a Carillo rod fitted and the wheels are in good condition so all I am looking for is a good quality drive side shaft. If H don't have them available I will have to get one made here. We are sick of fitting Indian junk replacment parts to this motor and having it fail
