This is all new to me and could use some advice... is anyone here running the Powerbox without a battery? What are the advantages and disadvantages? I have wired mine in last night and somehow the battery is now unconnected. Of course I will look into this as I must have done something a bit left-field, but having said that... if it runs without a battery, that suits me fine! I don't use indicators and only switch the lights on at night, so I don't have too many concerns. Norm?

Hello mate. I have one fitted to both my Bullets and did experience a troublesome tick over issue with my 350 with no battery, when I switched the lights on it died. Also, indicators at tick over... Forget it. I'm not sure but I think the battery-less idea is more for competition machines... Just to have the engine running basically. It could work for you though. No harm in experimenting. Let us know how you get on.

Cheers Matt. I had the same thing as you in that I had to rev the engine in order for the engine not to cut out once the lights were on. I think I need to trace the + and - leads that were connected to the old reg/rec set up... I used these to connect the new Powerbox and now the battery is out of the charging circuit... not my intention but something must be loose or disconnected. That would explain my earlier charging problems I guess! In any case I'm just happy I can ride home in the dark

OK gents - panic over. I now have a battery working alongside the 'box - turned out to be a, erm, ahem... disconnected cable to main fuse... AND RELAX.
