Coil lead fit?

Hi

Doing some winter maintenance I removed the coil. I don't recall how i removed the ht lead at the coil end but I obviously have. On re installation it appears that the lead is just a gentle push fit into the top of the coil then the rubber hood goes over the lead. Should it click in (the lead) or secure in some way please ?

Thanks

Dave

You should have a little wrap around/bite in tag on the end of the ht lead. this then goes in the coil and the rubber weather sleeve fits over the top. it is a simple strip of metal you could make yourself, a thin sliver with pointed ends to grip into the ht lead, bend it double across the end of the lead. The pointed ends should dig in about a half inch up.

Thin brass would be a good material to use
