Just removed head, no sign of any washers so assume still in head ,tried magnet,in reccess and there is steel at the bottom,cant see how i can remove them , would it be ok to put new ones on top (our hosts better quality ) ? many thanks Bob.

Without haste I would say get our hosts washers , my Indian ones were crushed to metal flakes , gives one control for your de-coke re-build , I must admit I was shocked at how they looked .

The washers get squashed and jam in the head. They can be pretty difficult to get out. Mr H sells some nice hard ones.

Hi Robert. You might loosen the washers enough by using a drill with a bit size in between the head hole size and the washer hole size. The aim is not drill them out but in starting to drill the washers, they are likely to spin and once they do, there is a good chance they will be free enough to be shaken out. If possible it would be better to get them out before using the new hard versions as they could get squahed even more and trap the head on by crimping themselves to the head stud threads. Always worth a try
