hi rich ,things to look out for are the same as any other 2nd hand bike ,check the swinging arm for play ,as the nylon bushes have been known to fail ,this could be a bargaining point ,although hitchcocks do an upgrade ,apart from that go for it and join the club.all the best paul.

Hello Rich ---- it would seem from reading various posts on this forum that the ECU (Electronic Control Unit---Brain---Black box---call it what you will ) has been giving trouble and that an updated version is available from Enfields. It might be prudent therefore to check on it's history regarding your particular bike. If the owner is genuine then any receipts for that type of work should be readilly forthcoming. Find out where your nearest dealer is as well---- if there is some warranty left you don't want to waste it, do you ?? My personal favourite when buying second-hand is to make sure the V5c is present, with the bike at the time AND at the registered place of keeping. Otherwise, as Grunda 12 says. Hope it turns out well for you and do keep us informed how you get on ??
