Im trying to remove my 5 speed gearbox cover,right side shift,taken out the 6 bolts but still no shift....have i missed something

Pull the clutch lever, hold it in and tap around the edges of the casing with a soft mallet and it should pop free.

As well as the screws there are a couple of narrow dowel pins holding the cover in place so it needs a good straight pull to remove it (or a straight push if you use BW's advice).
