I notice there are some suppliers of 10mm 7075-T6 alloy rod if not tube on eBay. What material did you order?

That's the one. And when I did the maths, it's about half the weight of 2mm wall chromoly tube. Also with alloy in a steel sleeve, if it's a tight fit at room temperature, it'll always be a tight fit.

I went for the thick-walled tubing as I don't have a lathe to bore alloy bar accurately for the adjusters or AVL push rod caps. It's a lesser grade than your bar, but I'm hoping it's better then Chennai used!
