We currently have two threads running about 535 electrical issues
I am wondering if there's a link between the two

Joe's bike voltage
Ignition off 12.35
Ignition on 12.05
Running lights off 13.95
Running lights on 12.35

Andrew's bike voltage
Ignition off 12.64
Ignition on 12.4
Running lights off 14.25
Running lights on 12.9

Do we have a link between the two ? the numbers look similar to me

I do wonder if there's a bad connection buried in there somewhere. Thwe issues seem to be occurring when there's a higher power demand and when damp.

Some of the Jap bikes, noteably blackbirds, had a big common earth connector block buried in the wiring loom where 19 wires from the FI system are all connected together. They were originally installed for bench-testing then all jammed into the block and wrapped up in the loom before rolling off the production line.

After a time (about 1o years), they started to corrode and fail intermittantly causing a lot of them to have annoying and difficult to solve electrical issues until someone found the culprit and it became a known and easy fix. You had to cut into the loom at exactly the right place to find it then replace the connector with something more robust. It isn't even shown on the wiring diagram.

These issues have the same kind of feel about them.

I found some chaffed and exposed
wires on mine under the rear mudguard just before they enter then rear light cluster.
