Hi I started my royal Enfield 350 today it’s a 2007 year and I noticed petrol leaking from bottom of fuel tap, looks like a clear glass or plastic piece .I turned it which made it worse then tried it again and it stopped.Do I need to buy a new tap or can I unscrew this bottom glass or plastic piece from the tap do they come apart to fit a washer ? Or are they known to break down

Is this the type with a small hemispherical bowl on the underside, with a square boss for a small spanner? If so, you can unscrew the bowl and there is a simple flat washer/ seal with a screen filter inside it. You can remove the screen to clean it.

As above but be aware they can become brittle and crack when you remove them. I wonder if the original sealing washer/o-ring is ethanol proof? If it's a rubber seal, get one made of viton, you can buy then by size online
