Not the same, but my 250 pre-unit Clipper runs fine on a 24mm Mikcarb (from a 350 Indian Bullet)…

Out of curiosity, what is the problem with the pre-monobloc carb? Worn out?

I was hoping to hear from people who have upgraded to a newer type carb

As your engine will be a British one, the porting will be much better than on the Indian ones, so I would go for the 26 mm Concentric.

I found that my 350 (now gas flowed/ported to 26mm) runs very nicely on one of those!
