Hi all---------OK, so here we are at Sept 1st 2021 and the official introduction of E-10 fuel at forecourt pumps.......Anyone have any Carb jetting suggestions for a Bullet '65 with a 9:1 piston ??
Have our hosts done any tests or have any revised suggested figures ??

Hi Alan, 9:1 you say? If it is the engine I rebuilt for you, that was probably no more than 7:1.
Regards, Paul.

The octane rating is still 95 so you shouldn't be any more prone to detonation than before. May be a marginally lower energy density which could slightly lean off the mixture but remember, you are going from E5 to E10 so it would be significantly less than a 5% reduction in energy density. I doubt it would even be a jet size.

Tornado is sticking with 5% for as long as possible.
Hopefully, a solution will be found for 10% alcohol without making our bikes act drunkā¦

Here in Wa State the fuehrer has signed off on E15. Royal Enfield manual says "Increase AREA of main Jet 1% for each percent of alcohol" Fuel suppliers may not be too sharp about stripping the bottom on their storage tanks...Amal carbs are prone to collecting water in the cross drilling in the needle jet...first place I look. Star Tron works well as a fuel additive. Covering the carb inlet while revving the engine can help suck water through the jet. Enjoy the brave new world...
