I fitted one to mine - not the short version.

Does what it says on the tin, keeps most of the crud off the shock absorber, and stops crud accumulating under teh rear mudguard.

Cheap and cheerful, AND works - Old inner tube fastened / glued to short shock cover. Extends down to bottom of shock,
which after 5000 miles is still like new.

Pic of the rear of my Him. before I washed it.

Full hugger fitted - to be honest it would be better if it extender further around the rear wheel, but it certainly does a good job of keeping the shock cleaner and stops crud accumulating under the rear of the bike.
