Seems like a silly question, but how is the exhaust pipe secured to the cylinder head?
I've looked at the illustrations to no avail.

It is just an easy push fit and the other brackets keep it all in place. If you are concerned it might leak you can use bathroom silicone selant before pushing it together which miraculously doesn't burn. It works just right. But may well not need it anyway.

...or if you're a real Doubting Thomas you can use Gas Flue Block sealant. That's been tested on the sun.

Hi ALPHASHIFTER---a lot of us use that stuff and it works a treat. Just a couple of tips }---- a) Clean ALL of the black, carbon deposits from both inside the Cylinder Head opening for the pipe and around the pipe itself.... the silicone WON'T stick to that.----b) Using your wet fingertip, tool the stuff firmly onto the surfaces--- I find a little of the old spittle here helps ---- and into the bottom of the cyl. head opening.....c) Consider fitting one of those finned heat clamps as this will provide another face for the sealant to bond against...Clean off any surplus with the "wet finger" tool to give a professional look to your P & J. Depending on the instructions on the tube you can either leave it to cure OR warm it gently for a while with the engine idling. Another excuse for a "Test ride"----enjoy !!
