Hi everyone, need to be picking your collective brains again. I've just purchased a 2nd hand 932 mk1 carb (in really good nick for not a lot!). What size jets should be in it for a 1995 model 500cc bullet. All the mod cons on the ignition, you know, points, condenser & powerbox.
Any suggestions are taken as purely that.
Regards,
John B

Hi JOHN B ----just for the record----that's a Mk1 Concentric 932 carb ??.---- Lucky you, I just happen to have a new 932 from MrH's waiting to go on my 2005 Classic 500 Bullet this winter. So, straight from the side of the AMAL box comes this }----- MAIN = 22O, N/JET = 106, PILOT = 25, VALV = 3+1/2 . Have you checked to see if it's a 2-stroke or a 4-stroke ?? ie is there a cut-away behind the top of the needle jet where it protrudes into the bore of the carb. ?? Is there ANY play at all between the slide and the bore that it fits into ?? Finally---as it's had some use then consider having it Ultrasonic cleaned, then fit the latest viton tipped float needle and AMAL's "Stay up" float...WARNING, DANGER !!! }--- There now follows a potentially controversial comment-----The WASSAL carb parts are fully interchangeable with their AMAL prototypes but cheaper........ Just a fact---I'm not connected in any way.

Hi Alan,
Had a look at the carb and it appears that I've got the left hand carb from a norton 850 commando,; I've had a look at the spray tubes on the Amal website. It came in a box but there's nowt on it apart from the Amal logo. Some signs of wear and tear but not as bad as the 928 carb that's currently on the bike. Thank you for the advice, may I suggest that you consider fitting an off centre pancake filter once you get the new carb on yours. Fitted one to mine, doesn't appear to affect consumption (get about 68.5 to the gal at the moment) and looks really, really nice. In my opinion any way. Thanks again

Hello JOHN B---- Yes, already have one of those from my last Bullet. I'm gradually converting the present machine to an Army despatch riders (Desert rats)style ----complete with re-paint into desert sand, so that pancake will be most appropriate I think-----they do look good, don't they ?? Best regards-------
