G'day All, I'm new to this forum, well sort of. I thought I had a login but coulndt remember the name. Anyway my name is Tony and I'm just finishing off a 1948 J2. I'm trying to figure the wiring from a Hitchcocks loom (6v +earth) to a Wassell electronic regulator. If someone has a link or some clues, I'd appreciate it.
Regards Tony

Thanks papasmurf, that is the instruction sheet for the Wassell. I already have that and the instruction asheet for the Hitchcock harness number 1339. Here is my understanding of the connections.

I think I have it right but my electrical/wiring logic can be hit and miss and I don't want to fry another regulator

The way i see it you have it wrong, and the Wassel sheet is wrong.
Black to black (E) and red to W/B which should go to the Amp gauge.
So why does the sheet say E to D?? D should go to D,dynamo. So your confusion is understandable,in my opinion.

Oops, I just had a closer look at the Wassell diagram and the one I have is different. That is why it's confusing. Here is the instruction sheet for my Wassell Part Number WW10221P

This should make more sense. The Hitchcock wire colours and letter labels are off their instruction sheet and refer to the original Lucas control box.

To be be a little clearer, the Hitchcocks black wires are earth wires and the Brown/white goes to the ammeter.
