Hi Norm it was a copletely knackerd engine with the main crank bearings turning in the casing, and on a strip down finding the engine had been botched by a previous owner,on fitting a reconditioned engine? the valves were not seating so another strip down and re build delayed getting back on the road, but everything seems to be ok for now, just need some decent weather to go for a long run.

Taper, glad you got it sorted at last. It is good that someone tells us when they have done this, as then people become much happier to assist when another problem is raised. Incidentally I see that it is promised to be fine on 22nd March 2013 according to he of the grande diesely thing, but remember that I have first call on fine weather for MadMikes Gathering in Leicestershire as those who attended this year will confirm. The next MMG will be in April or May and I shall be ordering very fine weather as usual. If you are able to attend then you will receive a very warm welcome.

Hi matey !!---- may I also add my congratulations on the sterling effort that you have displayed ?? I've just done a quick trawl back of your postings and, reading between the lines plus using my own history of diagnostic engineering, can understand what it feels like when faced with a "Brick Wall". I also think you're a "Hero" for riding a 350 in the first place. Let's get some pleasant miles under your belt now before the w-i-n-t-e-r arrives.

thanks gents for the long range weather forcast and the invite to next years MMG,I will watch the weather forcasts with renewed intereste on TV specifically for the promised sun on these dates and also because the weather girl is quite pretty,I hope to have a decent run before then and also before the first snow because my bullet will be in hibernation then as will I.There will be i am sure another problem at some stage with my bike and will most certainly be asking your advice in the future, once again thanks to everyone.
