Sport twin 500 cams

I have a 62 sport twin and my cams are rusted to the the point that I need to replace them.Do I have any interchangeably options?

You could probably get them repaired by someone such as Newman Cams, they repaired a very tired cam from a pre war RE v twin for me, not long ago.

Our hosts still have new cams listed for the 1961 500 twin, I'd be surprised if they didn't fit straight into yours. Choice of stock or sporty "R" profile, here's your link to the on-line parts book page.

Adrian,what is the difference between sport and deluxe?What years are compatible for the 62?

As yours is from the latter days of the 500 twin I would be very surprised if the factory would have considered any changes for the final models. You can always e-mail our hosts and ask them. [email protected]

What's the difference between the deluxe and sports "R" cams? Maybe 5 mph faster! If your twin is the sports model, doesn't that suggest the fitting of the sportier cam?
