Restoring a 1953 Royal Enfield Ensign with a 58 engine and want to know what type of condenser to use as its missing.
Also going to use a new light switch which has no resistor on it. What changes do I need to make to stop any bulbs blowing.
Any help appreciated

The online parts books provided by our hosts should provide all the info you need - here is a link to the 1958 Ensign pages

Good luck.

Hi, I have two Ensigns and have never seen a original condenser for them, but you can fit any condeser in line, the best place is next to the coil.

I forgot to mention, if you have a battery fitted get a Boyer inductive disharge ignition box and you will never have to worry about condenser or points again, I have one on my 350 bullet and there not expensive, I think when I got mine a few years ago they were £20.
