Hello!

I have big oil leak from the crankshaft drive side shaft on my 1951 model G.
I thought it was the seal but when I removed the drive side sprocket there was no seal.
And I cant understand how one sould be mounted (no space for one).

When i look in the spare part catalog I cant find the seal.

Isent there supposed to be one?
If not how are the oil supose to stay in the engine? :?: :)

I believe that back in 1951 the factory didn't fit an oil seal as such, more of a felt washer! No mention of it if you look at the engine drawings in the parts book certainly, but if you look at the primary chain case section, part no. 22992 could be what you're looking for, or item 24 in the parts book drawing.

They can be replaced with an appropriately sized oil seal, I gather.

Hello

Thanks for your reply!

There where no felt whaser either when i removed the sprocket so probaly why there was a big leak.

Number 24 could be what Im looking for, thanks I dident find it when I looked.
I will check it out.
Hard to find things sometimes in the part books.
