Please can someone explain to me why some Bullets frames are double marked as below

G2 / 80xxx
EI / 42xxx

The last three digits xxx are the same on the frame.

Hi, early bikes were manufactured in uk factory g2 number then shipped to indian and restamped by chennai. I have a 1965 ex indian army bullet stamped in the same manner. Vince.
