Electra EFI. Whats the trick to fitting the oil filter?

Hi Guys,

I've recently bought a 2010 Bullet Electra EFI Trials. Its in pretty good condition, with a few jobs required to get it back on the road.

I did an oil change the other day, but found that replacing the oil filter on this model is quite tricky. This is due to the 2 bolt Filter cap, spring, washer, small o ring and pressure plate combination. The first attempt ended up with damaged o rings and a oil leak.

Does anyone have any top tips to make the instillation of the oil filter cap a little bit easier?

I know that there is a guy on ebay that supplies a modified 2 bolt filter cap, which I have ordered, but it has not arrived yet.

Thanks,

Dave

Buy a cap conversion from hitchcocks, PART No. 90157.
Solves your problem easy peasy.
I don't think there is a foolproof way to hold all the separate parts together, just needs more practice. 👍🔧🔧🔨
