The right people are not aware of the situation. I used to be in charge of warranty for Renault for the entire UAE and I think that this is appalling service. I am convinced the right people do not know about it.

Its less than an hours work to swap the cams out and that would include an oil change and wiping oily fingerprints off the cases.
I am in the Scottish Borders and can help out if required?
Yes, there should be a shim washer on each cam gear.
Can't think that without one would damage the cam but it might scuff up the cam retaining plate a bit.
But like you, salty roads now, not much biking happening.

Just to let you know I contacted RE India and initially they were
concerned.Took all the details,the dealer involved etc. and said they would get back to me.That was 3 months ago and I havnt heard a thing.Subsequent emails I have sent have had no reply.Covid excuses is all I hear for shutdowns,hold up in parts etc from local dealers.
