Hi Clemens,

I believe this is the company you are looking for. Better known for Speedo repairs, useful.

A mate of mine fitted a morgo oil pump to his aerial square four. All good but the oil pressure guage stopped working. Turns out it worked by having a spiral of copper pipe with the needle attached, as the oil pressure increased, the spiral tended to untwist and made the needle move. A bit like one of those party tooters made of a coil of paper tube

Turns out the first run of the engine with the new oil pump had provided a huge increase in oil pressure and had effectively straightened the coil of copper pipe.

I'm not sure this helps fix yours but it's a bike from the same era and I thought quite an amusing story.

Yes it is, and it is more of an arc than a spiral. Or it was on the ones I have taken apart.
Just two screws in the back to hold everything in place on the Smiths car ones.

Hello again!

Unfortunately Speedometer Richfield could not repair the oilgauge becaus of to much distorded and lack of parts.

Does anybody has possible a guide how to repair such manometer or other idea to stay with the old gauge?
Thanks Clemens

I'm sorry Speedograph Richfield were unable to help.

What is the diameter of the instrument body? There might be other classic gauges you could substitute until you can find someone who can repair or replace it.
