INT 650 Exhaust Question

Hello All
I’ve just installed a pair of Norman Hyde pea-shooters which I got second hand from a guy who was selling his Interceptor. They look and sound fantastic.
Question: what happens at MOT time? The OE silencers (which weigh a ton...) have catalysts I believe, these pea-shooters do not. Do I need to temporarily re-install the OE ones to pass any MOT emission tests??
Thanks

Bikes are not emissions tested at MOT. If they are significantly louder than stock your tester might have an issue with them based on volume.

Thanks - that’s reassuring, as they’re not too loud !

I bought a set of NH exhausts for my Thruxton a few years ago. IIRC they are not marked for off-road use only. I sent them back because I couldn’t use them with the Triumph mainstand as they had no bump stop. The Triumph TORS ( ie Triumph Off-road Silencers) that I bought instead have a clear marking to that effect. My MOT tester stated that he could not pass any bike with exhausts clearly marked for off-road use, though if not so marked it would depend on how loud they are ( to be fair he’s pretty liberal on that score). I therefore had to swap them back for the originals for the MOT. All a bit tedious really. No matter, I no longer have the bike, having just part-exed it against a new Honda.
Depending on your broker you might need to inform your insurance company of the mod. Recently Carole Nash policies include a really helpful list of what modifications are ok not to be declared ( about time too; it saves a lot of uncertainty and is factual rather than internet opinion/ twaddle). I have found it very useful, given that I invariably modify my bikes to some extent as soon as I get them. It is not generic though because it only applies to CN.
I don’t know about the current RE twins, but on a Triumph with NH exhausts or TORS it should be remapped to avoid running weak.

P051UHD - Nice, I like peashooters. Had them on T140s and T160's in the past.
Rattlebattle: Where did you get your TORs from? Looking for a set for an 865 Speedmaster, but cant find anything. Possibly no longer made ?
