Hi all. In my 1996 535cc twin-plug 9:1 beast, I always fitted Iridium plugs (NGK) and they lasted well although the OEM 12v points+coil system couldn't really handle both plugs. BUT when I fitted a twin-plug competition ignition from Boyer (twin 6v coils), the bike refused to run with Iridiums - presumably because the drain from the twin coils was too much for the ignition system (despite adding a high power generator from Mr H). But when I changed back to ordinary plugs, all was well. I should say I actually tried 4 new Iridium plugs before realising it wasn't the plug but the new system. Cheers, ChrisD
