At present my bike has hitchcocks universal silencer fitted 91045 , but over a long journey the noise from the exhaust at speed is annoying.
I am thinking of fitting a more pleasent looking and sounding cigar crusader exhaust from our hosts 45083.

I have no length dimension for cigar silencer, but will ask hitchcocks monday.

Would this exhaust silencer have a major affect on a tuned 350 year 1978 with high compression , R cams etc.

I await a reply , cheers ng.

Funnily enough that's the same part number for the 1958 350 Redditch Bullet silencer, so if the internals are faithful to the Redditch design, I suspect it will suit your tuned Indian Bullet rather well.

That silencer was fitted to a wide range of RE singles and twins during the 1950’s and 60’s – Crusaders, Bullets, Clippers, Constellations, Interceptors. It looks good and sounds good. So must be good!

The art/science of exhaust systems was pretty unsophisticated in those days (other than the transformative effect MZ introduced for 2 stroke performance with expansion chambers!!) Price and simplicity of manufacture were guiding principles for most UK bike builders.
