Hi guys--------didn't want to high-jack SIMONS rattles so here are some of mine to chew over}------------- Like yourselves, my bike has also developed an "Extra" rattle. This is as if a small, metallic hammer is OCCASIONALLY striking something inside,thus}---ping----ping,ping,ping----ping,---ping,ping,-------ping,ping,ping,-----ping,----Looking up morse code hasn't helped either !!AND, just for good measure yet ANOTHER noise from the gearbox area like this}----sheee----shee,shee,--------sheeeeeeee,---shee,shee,-------sheeeeeeeee----she,-----etc. This one is ONLY when the bike is in motion. I've had it running on the centre stand but NO NOISE. It does it just after pulling away and both hot or cold. It's NOT the clutch or retainer nut as I've just fitted a 19T sprocket and it was doing it before. I had hoped to find something amiss then but no such luck. It's like the old fashioned Bacon slicer---like something occasionally rubbing on thin metal..... The bike's running well, have just done this years' 1,000 mile oil & filter change. NO unusual items in the old sump oil----bronze particles, white metal filings, Loch Ness Monster droppings etc. Any ideas ???

Hey Alan I think your bike must be a bit of a lad and on your last run saw a girlie Enfield and just can't forget her!!!

Hello again --------- NORM, for this Pensioner any time before the sun is over the yard-arm is "early" !!! LoL !!!--------- Hello RIGGERS, have recently altered my Mikcarb to your settings posted a while ago ( But used a 135 main instead of the 1mm drill) and YEP !! certainly gets the old girl going----which means that by your last post it's a lesbian bike !!........... Now there's an interesting psychological conundrum if ever ??.......... ZEN and the art of MOTORCYCLE MAINTENANCE never ventured into this territory, that's for sure.......... And what does that make me ?? ( Answers on a plain postcard to my private Box No. ) Now my brain has a "Rattleorium" all of its' own........... Ye Gods.

Fear not Alan mine is a open church any rattle can join. I just wish one of us could pin down the cause. For the moment it is the sole if intermitant fault with my bike.

Simon, 350 heads are easy to come by, stick another one on and see if the rattle goes away

Hi WINKIE-----------that's an easy one to answer-----just own and ride a Bullet. Sooner(probably)OR later your wish will be granted. Why not book your rattle right now ?? Various types to choose from, all carrying a makers warranty, to confuse and annoy you. The biggest problem with these bikes is}--------------- the fact they exist at all !! You just have to have one(or more)---------- it's a bloke thing( OK CATH, I can hear you !!)--well mostly....ENJOY !!!!!!!
