Just to let all know although I found some wire damage thought I has better check the complete switch after failing on my Himalayan. This is a standard part used on the new models and sadly I found the switches are dry built and I think my main issue was carbon flash build up on the contacts in the end causing open circuit.
I would recommend removing the switch and cleaning and greasing the contacts with high quality silicon grease. Himalayan owners its very easy with a 5mm allen key drive and the wire runs left of the headstock to under the instrument area.
