Hello,
I have just spent the day fitting cams and new Power Commander V to my 535 GT.
On start up it didn't want to idle as normal, and i had to hold the throttle a bit. idle is erratic at times...drops down, then can shoot up to 2500-3000, then back down. the Power Commander units status will flash red, not sure if that's normal. linked a video https://youtu.be/oDkONAdmMZ8 anyone have any info on these? checked all connections and they seem fine....not sure what to do next.....

Status light should normally remain off unless it sees a fault. If you have a laptop with the free pcv software you can see what the unit is reporting.
Was there a map pre installed on the pcv?

Well I think I solved it...still got a bit of rev drop at idle at times, but It had that before Power Commander.
Seems when I moved fuel tank(it was close to empty) I got air in pump/lines maybe? and a loose wire from the fuel pump may not of helped.
I got it together and took it for a ride, surged and missed....was going to head back home but thought Id give it a klm or so and it came good. put 30 steady klm on her today and no probs but idle still drops sometimes when stopped at lights.https://youtu.be/Eo01wKGr04M

Thanks for getting back to me Haggis.
Would of just left it, if not for you.
Hooked the laptop back in this morning and yep....red light came on after a minute or so. Figured out how to check and got this error 2303 https://pin.it/FW7UXeM.... I had the crank censer wires plugged into wrong ones!
Look for the large wiring coming from right hand side engine case, It comes off that under top rear engine mount...pain to get to.https://pin.it/7dbHhMZ. do not plug into red one! like I did...didn't seem to hurt but wrong one. https://pin.it/4SPbM18.

The red plug is the one for the sidestand switch.
This switch often gives trouble causing misfire and cutting out especially in the wet.
You can simply unplug from that red connector and take the switch off. The connector is left disconnected.
It should feel like a different bike now everything is working as it should.

I was surprised recently to find out a cut out switch on a side stand is not a legal requirement or part of an MOT.

I recently purchased a new small motorcycle (you should have seen the moths fly out of my wallet.)

It does not come with a side stand for the UK and USA market so I had to import the foot rests side stand mount from Taiwan.
It was predelivery dealer fitted.

It does not have a handle bar engine stop switch either because if I happen to fall off of the bike the engine stops.
(Kill switch is when the radio signal from remote in ones pocket gets a short distance from the ignition system.)

Interesting and good to know, as on my old 800 BM, there were three wires and you couldn’t just disconnect, you had to jump two of the wires; can’t remember which, but irrelevant here.

Thanks.
