Has anyone got a fix for lack of power from front calipers? I ride a lot of single track roads and squeeze through the narrowest of gaps as unable to pull up.

Isn’t there a factory recall regarding Himalayan front brakes? Sticky caliper problem, I believe.

I've no problem with the front brake as long as I use all four fingers. After reading various stories about it being frighteningly bad, when I got mine, once the brake had bedded in, I mucked around on a quiet road doing emergency stops and it's fine. It's the first bike I've had with ABS, and I've found that a bit weird when it starts operating.

Thanks for the replies folks. Grabbing a big handful will pull it up although would prefer gently squeezing. As to slowing down, not going fast just trying to keep momentum going and reluctant to brake. Will try better pads and see how that goes. :D

I just bought a 2017 with 8500 Kms on it. The front brake was not as good as a Demo bike I tried a few months earlier. Upon inspection the bottom piston was very reluctant to emerge from the caliper. I cleaned it several times (brake fluid seemed to work best) and it freed up. Braking is pretty good now. I decided not to fit the sintered pads I bought and will see if it stays free.

Might be worth checking this before paying for the sintered pads.

Problem is, brake fluid attacks paint!!
Make sure you get it all off any paintwork.
A smear of brake grease will help to stop in corroding.
