250 continental breather

Having rebuilt the top end of my 250 Continental , because of stripped threads ,and a leaking cylinder base gasket, on running the engine with the rocker cover off to check everything out,it was interesting to see the large amount of oil coming from the rocker spindles mixed with a lot of air bubbles, all this oil flowed down the pushrod tunnel and filled the camshaft chamber upto the bottom pushrod / cam follower joint,my question is with the tappet head cover fitted will the engine benefit from an additional breather in the tappet head cover.

Regards. Colin

If you don't get an answer here I suggest trying the RE 250 Technical Owners Group on Facebook.

If you don't have problems when the engine is reassembled, don't fit additional breathers. It is quite possible to let anengine breathe too much.
