Exhaust mounts, which first?

Hi folks, having stripped the Siamese exhaust off of my 1960 model super meteor to replace with a nice shiny nice set (which don't fit as the pipes are slightly to large a diameter to fit in the heads...) I'm going to fit them back on. Question is, do you tighten up the pipes onto the mounting bracket at the rear of the engine, the joint between the two parts of the Siamese, or the stud that goes through the pipes just outside of the cylinder head first? Is there a correct procedure? I'm sure someone has answered this before but cant find it.

Many thanks

When I say stud I mean exhaust tie rod!

Never done a Enfield twin but when fitting exhausts I fit from the head working my way back leaving everything lose then tighten from back to the front

Hope this helps Dai

Hi, some exhaust systems I have brought in the past have had no rear mounts and just rely on tie rod to lock in place. Vince
