Wooden Stops

I have always thought my Himalayans brakes were OK but not exactly eye popping; in fact the front brake didn’t have a lot of feel, almost a bit wooden. Anyhow my front pads were getting low so I have just replaced the standard ones with some Ferodo organic replacement brake pads. Well I must say I am very pleased with the results; the lever feel is now much more progressive and the pads have some real bite, which is a splendid improvement for only changing the pads… Well impressed. :D

Were your brakes less effective in the wet with original pads? Major problems these days.

I must admit I am usually a fair-weather rider, but with so much rain lately it is hard to avoid wet roads. My new pads feel good in the rain and after going through big puddles, but I am always careful about anticipating stopping distances after soaking the brakes in water. I would say the Ferodo pads were better than the standard pads wet or dry.
