I'm having trouble visualising what your exact problem is but they are known for tangling the kickstart and layshaft due to an iron bushing on the layshaft. Symptoms include the kickstart moving itself down when riding away under power and occasionally changing itself into first when kicked over.

Our hosts do replacement bronze bushes for the layshaft if this is the issue.

Thanks for replying , what is the purpose of the kick start stop plate and should the footstarter shaft have 360 rotation in the kicking direction.

Hi, the stop plate retains the lever in its stationery position. If the lever have 360 rotation it would hit gearlever/drag on the ground. Also it would unwind/wind up the spring. Vince ps how could you kick it over 360*?
